Daphne passed away peacefully with family by her side and surrounded by the love of other family and many dear friends.
Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, she moved 'out west' to further pursue a teaching career and dedicated 37 years to her profession. While she taught various grades over the years, she finished the latter part of her career at the beginning, teaching Grade 1 with the Kamloops School District. Her life was well lived; she valued highly family, friends, and contributions to her community. Travel was a significant and important part of her life, and she exemplified life- long learning.
Daphne is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ross Styles; children Helen Coleman, Tim Styles, and Laureen Styles (David Robinson); grandchildren Donald Coleman, Laura Coleman, and George Coleman; and her sisters Jane Wasson (Dana) and Elizabeth Anthony.
She is predeceased by Len Dickson (brother), Jennie Dickson (mother), and John Dickson (father).
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul Street. A reception will follow the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, should family or friends desire, donations in Daphne's memory to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
