Porlier, Joseph Antoine Leonard Leonard Porlier, "Lennie" as his friends and family knew him, passed away on January 2, 2007, at the age of 69 years. Born on June 7, 1937, in Marcelin, Saskatchewan, Lennie spent his early years on the family farm in Chase Creek, B.C., later working in the logging industry. Lennie was known for his strong work ethic and was employed by BC Hydro for over 19 years. He was never one to stay idle, and was a jack of all trades, well known for his work as a talented antique re-furbisher and landscaper. Lennie made Kamloops, B.C. his home for the last 21 years. He will be remembered as a humorous and amiable fellow who always lent a hand and never passed up an opportunity to tell a story about his mischievous days as a youth. A member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, he strongly valued the fellowship and support of the parish. Lennie is predeceased by his father, Henry Porlier; mother, Alice Porlier; and sisters, Eva, Edna and Leona. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Sheila (Lee), Shayne (Britt) and Sherisse Porlier; brother, Raymond (Thelma) Porlier; and sister Eunice (Gerry) Horner. Lennie will also be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family expresses deep gratitude to Dr. W. Bishop for his kindness and support, Diane and Wayne Nelson, for their compassion and care, and the staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home for their comfort and consideration. A Mass and celebration of Lennie's life will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2826 Bank Road, Kamloops (Westsyde) B.C., with Father Allan Noonan O.M.I. celebrant. A reception at the Church will follow, with the interment taking place at the Chase Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
