Judith Lorraine Malitear July 9, 1957 ~ February 10, 2012 Judith Lorraine Malitear will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter, Christine Malitear, her sister Patricia (Aaron) Engele, her brothers Douglas Rempel and Ronald (Germaine) Rempel, her nephews Craig Watters, David Rempel, John Sprague, Taylor Engele and nieces Jazmin Rempel, Jade Rempel, Jayda Sprague, Amber Sprague, Amanda Engele, and Janelle Stumborg, her “other” sister (cousin) Teresa Kosmas, Jeanette Rempel as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Judy was predeceased by her mother Darlene Rempel and her father Marvin Rempel, her grandfather Issac Epp, and grandmothers Linda Epp and Margaret Rempel. She is survived by her grandfather, George Rempel. Judy was born on July 9, 1957 in Swift Current, SK. She grew up on a farm near Webb. At the age of 16 she started her working life and moved to Swift Current. On November 4, 1975 she became a proud mother to Christine Dawn who was the highlite of her life. She was a single parent until she met Rod Malitear and they became a family on July 3, 1981. After many moves they settled in Saskatoon. Judy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1989. She continued to work until her symptoms made it too difficult for her to continue. In 2007 her symptoms became more severe and she moved into Parkridge Centre. Judy was never one to complain and maintained such a positive attitude. Judy will always be remembered for her strength, dignity and grace. She handled her illness with great courage. Judy’s struggle with MS finally ended on February 10, 2012 with her daughter and sisters by her side. The family expresses a special thank you to the caregivers at Southridge II, Parkridge Centre, Saskatoon who provided excellent care and became like family to Judy. A Memorial Service will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.. Cremation with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Email condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
