It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we the family announce the passing of Marg Marshall on Sunday, Dec. 6 , 2009, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Amsterdam, Holland, she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Elizabeth (Oriddle) Wouts.
Marg enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid bingo player, loved a good card game and her favourite show, Coronation Street. Everyone loved hearing stories of home when she first arrived in Canada.
She is survived by her five children, Connie (Allan) MacLennan and Donald (Barbara) Marshall, both of Halifax, Helen (Bob) McGrady, Karl (Judy) Marshall, and Gordie (Julie) Marshall, all of Sydney; brother, Thyse Wouts, Holland; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews in Holland.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, son, Douglas, sister, Susie, and brother, Bep.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of third floor Fisherman’s Cove, Harbourstone Enchance Care.
There will be no visitaion by Marg’s request. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow. Burial to follow in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
