NEW GLASGOW – The family of Joanne Reid, of New Glasgow, are sad to announce her passing on Friday, December 4, 2009, at home.
Born in New Glasgow on September 24, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Elizabeth (Cameron) Stewart.
She was a long-time member of the First United Church, Trenton, and former choir member.
She is survived by son, John (Lynda), Dartmouth, N.S.; daughter, Susan (Michael Rudder), Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren, Kate DiGiulio (Florindo); Matthew, Lisa, brother, Keith Stewart, sister-in-law, Barbara McNabb, nephews, Alan (Louise) Stewart, David (Susan) Stewart.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Reid, sisters, Ruth Stewart, Myrtle Stewart. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Debra Orton officiating. Burial will be in Church Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the First United Church, Trenton.
