Reverend James L. Osborne was born June 4, 1933 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon along with a twin brother, John. He graduated from Haultain Public School, Nutana Collegiate, University of Saskatchewan, Montreal Theological College and McGill Faculty of Religious Studies, Montreal. Before Ordination, he served on a number of mission fields in Saskatchewan and one student weekend supply Pastoral Charge in the Ottawa Valley. He served a number of Pastoral Charges in Saskatchewan and two Pastoral Charges in Alberta, North West Conference. He felt it was a privilege and was fulfilled in serving the Church. In retirement, he took an active part in community life and considerable volunteerism. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Robert and Vera Osborne; wife, Helen Sylvia; daughter, Lauren; three brothers, Donald (Ina), Walter and wife Audrey, Jack and wife Dolores; two sisters, Jean and husband Bill Manson, Olive and husband Kyle Lusk. He leaves to mourn his death two daughters, Myrna (Tony) Gers-Uphaus, Saskatoon; Shelley (Kelly) Dobrowolsky, Saskatoon; and one son, Garth (Jill) Osborne, Spruce Grove, Alberta; three grandchildren, Matthew Bogucki (Saskatoon), Owen and Makenna Dobrowolsky. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the Royal University Hospital team of doctors and nurses on 6200 for their excellent care of our father. Jim was a loving father and a loyal servant of God and his community. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
