MEAD, Gordon - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon William Mead of Bonnyville, AB and formerly of Swift Current, SK on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Bonnyville, AB at the age of 43 years. Gordon was born in Swift Current, SK on September 1, 1966 and attended Swift Current Composite High School. He was enmployed at Quinn Contracting in Bonnyville, AB. Gordon enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan. A memorial service was held for Gordon from the East Side Church of God, Swift Current, SK on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM with John Duncan officiating. Ushers were Terry Hovland, Tyler Hovland, John Klassen and Kevin Pearson. The urnbearer was Lawrence Stroeder with the honorary urnbearers being all those that shared in his life. Interment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Gordon is survived by mother Helen Mead; spouse Sandra Mussell; children Tristen and Megan Mead; brother David (Mary) Mead; sisters Glenda (Jose) Rosales and Barb (Norman) Hovland; nieces April Hovland, Kimberly Hovland, Ana Rosales and Harper Moen; nephews Tyler Hovland, Terry Hovland, Daniel Rosales, Emerson Rosales and Holden Moen; great niece Aniella St. Pierre; great nephew Saul St. Pierre; father-in-law Gary Mussell; mother-in-law Diane Mussell; sister-in-law Nicole Moen. Gordon was predeceased by his father James Mead, brother Don Mead, paternal grandparents Oscar and Viola Mead and maternal grandparents Harold and Audrey Merritt.
