MacAdams, Ida Christina - 97, of Port Joli, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012, in the Queens Manor, Liverpool. Born in Welshtown, Shelburne County, she was a daughter of the late William and Winnie (Firth) Davis. Ida operated the local post office out of her home for over 30 years and following her retirement she continued to work helping seniors who needed help with their ailing loved ones. She enjoyed many hobbies and activities, some of her favorites being bingo, playing cards, quilting, going for car drives as well as being an animal lover. Ida was a loving and caring mother to her family and will be greatly missed by them and all that knew her. She is survived by daughters Beverly (David) Simpson, of Trenton, Ontario Rita Snair, of Queensland ; sons John (Brenda), Clyde Gordon (Wendy), both of Port Joli, Robert (Christina), of Marathon, Ontario; daughter in laws Christine Knox, of Port Joli, Frances MacAdams, of Sudbury, Ontario; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Clyde (1954); daughter Betty (2007); sons Wilfred (1986), Douglas (2001); granddaughter Andrea; son in law Maurice; sisters Mabel, Ada; brothers Lyle, Roy. A Celebration of Ida’s Life was held Saturday, February 25th, 2012 from Chandlers Funeral Home, Liverpool. Pastor Cyril Merserdau officiated. Burial was in Peaceful Hill Cemetery, Port Mouton.
