DULONG, M. Rita – 86, Belleville, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born January 24, 1926 in Hubbard’s Point, she was a daughter of the late François and Melvina (Melanson) Hubbard. She was a homemaker, having also worked at Cosmos Imperial Mills, Yarmouth, and as a fish processor. Rita was an active member of the Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau New Horizons Senior’s Group, and she enjoyed playing cards and bingo, puzzles and quilting, and she always loved gatherings with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving children, Jerry (Muriel) Dulong, Yarmouth; Joyce (Kent) Burton and Dale (Mike) Newell, both of Raynardton; Terry (Donna) Dulong, Lower Sackville; Rick (Janice) Dulong, Hubbard’s Point; Billy (Brenda) Dulong, Yarmouth; Kevin (Cathy) Dulong, Belleville; grandchildren, Christina, Vanessa, George, Catherine, Jamie, Jody, Christopher, Kelly, Sydney and Josie, as well as great grandchildren, Andrea, Joshua, Anna and Joey. Also surviving are a sister, Jennie (Prescott) Hanf, Brazil Lake, and brothers, Ben (Norma) Hubbard, Belleville and Gerald Hubbard, Yarmouth. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nelson H. Dulong, as well as her first-born child, Joyce, in infancy; a son, Mike Dulong; grandson, Gérémie; sisters, Sadie and Martha, both in infancy, Rosie Hubbard, Madelaine Landry and Louise Bourque; brothers, John Hubbard and Richard Hubbard. Arrangements were entrusted to H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where visitation took place from 2:30-4 and again from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, with prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 24 at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Ste.
