We are sad to announce the passing of Doris Gaudet of Hornes Road at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Feb. 21, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Ewen and Hattie Reid of Sydney.
Doris is survived by her sons, Wayne (Wendy), Ontario, Barry (Judy), Sydney, Darren (Leslie), Ontario; daughters, Brenda at home, Janet, Alberta, Jean, Halifax; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will miss her. She is also survived by her brothers, James, Sydney and Murray, Albert Bridge; sister, Shirley, South West Margaree.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Maurice; daughter, Linda, and son, Kevin; brother, Earl and sister Joyce.
Doris loved to play darts and was a member of the Albert Bridge Ladies Dart League for many years. She loved to play bingo and to listen to her radio program, Sentimental Journey on Sunday evenings and play tarabish.
“Rest in peace Mom, we love you and most of all we will not forget you”.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at Immaculate Heart Church, Mira Road with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment at a later date.
