Joan Yates June 14, 1932 - February 20, 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving Mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Joan Yates at the age of 74, after a battle with cancer, born in Ayrshire, Scotland, moved to Canada at age 18. Joan is survived by her beloved husband Irvin and 6 Children; Shirley Rosenthal (Roland Denis), Linda, Gary, Ron, Donald Yates (Trudy Falk), Ian Yates (Nicole Heinlein); 9 grandchildren, Michelle, Cory, Mike, Tawnie, Dayton, Dakota, Bryson, Noah, Dawson, 4 great grandchildren. Joan also leaves two sisters Janet & Ann, and two special dogs, Special friends Nita Kjeldsen, Bert & Brenda Favall and neighbours. Special thanks to Jackie and Dave Bortch for their caring support. Joan loved her family very much. She left us with memories of fun times just sitting in her back yard garden chatting or in the kitchen playing cards... At Mom's request there will be no service; she would rather friends and acquaintances take a step outside and take a deep breath of fresh air, pause and remember the good times you shared with her. A sincere thank you to Dr. Scott Montgomery. A heartfelt thanks is given to the Staff at the Hospice who provided very special care for both Mom and us.
