POITRAS On February 28, 2007, after a long courageous battle with cancer Mr. Joseph Cyr Poitras passed away at the age of 56 years. Cyr is survived by his loving wife Eileen, his sons Michael (Kate) of Spruce Grove and Shane (Sam) of Edmonton; three step children Tannis (Stacy) Restiaux and grandson Colby, Kelsey (Melissa) Warwick and Staci Warwick all of Vernon. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters, Jeanie Campbell of Edmonton, Diane (Alan) Hamel of Boisbriand, Quebec, Serge (Christiane) of Coaticook, Quebec, France (Chris) Hiebert of Langley, B.C., Bob (Rejeanne) of Quesnel, B.C., Jackie (Bob) Morrow of Fenandina Beach, Florida, Linda Poitras of Montreal and Joe (Dorina) of St. Andre, New Brunswick and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and four brothers and sisters. Cyr loved his family, especially enjoyed family gatherings and barbeques. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and was known to be "generous to a fault". Prayers will be recited on Friday, March 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 2797 Sunset Drive. The Reverend Father Nicholas Forde O.M.I. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
