June 22, 1907 – February 26, 2012. Passed away suddenly but peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 26, 2012, Elsie Thorne of New Harbour, aged 104 years. Predeceased by her first husband Selby Newhook and second husband Andrew Thorne; two daughters: Elizabeth (Edwin) Seymour, Alfreda , son Theodore and grandson Warren Newhook. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her wonderful long life with thanksgiving are: four children; two daughters and two sons, Clarice (Jack) Power, Norman (Marie), Hilda (Edwin Speenburgh, deceased) and Marmaduke; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by daughter-in-law Leona; special nephew Lloyd Smith (Angela) and special friend Violet Newhook; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo on Tuesday, February 28, 2:00 – 10:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. The Funeral service will be held from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, New Harbour on Wednesday, February 29th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Augustine’s Anglican Cemetery.
