Daniel Stanislaus MacLeod, 84, Grand Lake Road, Sydney, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Mary Anne (Doolan) MacLeod.
Danny was a member of St. Augustine’s parish.
He worked in the construction industry as a member of the International Labourers Union, Local 1115, retiring from the Lingan Golf and Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Evangeline ‘Eva’ (Bodhaine); daughters, Mary Lou MacLeod (Dave), Whitney Pier, and Benita MacLeod (Curt), Ontario; sons, Daniel (Cindy), Millville, and Malcolm (Carol), Sydney; sisters, Mary ‘Sis’ MacNeil and Florence MacLeod, Grand Lake Road; brother, Malcolm (Cathy), Grand Lake Road; grandchildren, Shane MacLeod, Danielle Young, Reggie MacLeod, Kelsey MacLeod and Linda Lewis; eight great-grandchildren, Josslynn, Jade, Tyler, Candice, Brooke, George, Brielle and John Daniel.
Daniel was predeceased by his son, James Forbes and brother, Murray.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, 10 a.m. with Rev. James Oliver officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
