It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Edith Pye, 83, on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Sophia (Hause) Tremblett. She was an adherent of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines.
Edith was a resident of the Northside Guest Home for the last five years. We wish to thank all the girls there for their care and love.
Edith was the mother of Diane (Martin) Serroul, Mill Creek; grandmother of Corinne (Denis) Arseneau, Fredericton, NB, Alanna Craig, Dartmouth, NS, John (Carol) Serroul, Ottawa, ON, and Josh Serroul, Mill Creek. She was the great-grandmother of Aaron, Tyler, Coady Craig, Luc and Christian Arseneau and Bronwyn and Rilla Serroul. She is also survived by a sister, Sylvia Darling, Wrentham, Massachusetts, USA, and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her loving husband John – never forgotten, but with him now; brothers, Sidney, William and Ernest and sisters, Elizabeth, Violet, Anne and Frances.
There will be no visitation. Edith will be buried beside her husband John in Tobin Road Cemetery, Sydney Mines, at a graveside service on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
