WARD, ESTHER - 1914 - 2012 - Esther P. (Sundby) Ward, age 97, of Shediac Cape, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012, at The Moncton Hospital. Esther was born in Pointe du Chene on November 07, 1914. She was the daughter of the late Hans Christian Sundby and the late Pearl (Spence) Sundby. Beloved wife of the late Lyman R. Ward (2005). Our dear mother was an avid quilter, enjoyed sewing, reading about birds and flowers, and gardening. Above all she loved children. Esther will be sadly missed by sons: Kent Ward (Carolyn) of Quispamsis, NB; Graig Ward (Lynn) of Shediac Cape, NB; Dean Ward (Lynn), of Georgetown ON; Shane Ward (Charlotte) of Red Deer, AB; daughters: June McGraw (Nelson) of Oshawa, ON; Gayle Forrestal (Terry) of Westbank, BC; Joy Ward of Campbellford, ON; Ellen Wood (Dave) of Armstrong ,BC; and Lois Hill of Shediac Cape, N B; she will also be missed by her 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and her sister Marion Ward. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Derhak; a brother Merrill Sundby; and sister Dorritt Urquhart.
In keeping with Esther’s request, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment this spring, at Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin. Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements. In Esther’s memory donations to the MS Society or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
