RUST On March 11, 2007 Mr. Gerald Sheldon Rust of Kamloops passed away at the age of 83 years. Gerald was born in Edmonton on January 9, 1924. He lived in Vancouver, Harrison Hot Springs, Trail, Castlegar and most recently in Kamloops. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta, his son Terry (Sharon) Rust and daughter Debbie (Terry) McCaffrey; his four grandchildren Renee and Carter Rust, Ken McCaffrey and Laurie (Jose) Siguenza; he also leaves two great grandchildren Madison McCaffrey and Tyrese Siguenza. Also left to cherish his memory are his only brother Doug (Millie) Rust and niece Linda (Hugh) Moffet and their daughter Olivia. He was predeceased by his mother Katie Patterson in 1983 and his father George Rust in 1987. Gerald was a wireless operator for the Air Force from 1942 - 1945, he was discharged as a flight sergeant. Never forgetting his military roots, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #170 for 50 years, serving as Vice President, President and Past President. Gerald worked with Cominco Ltd. in Trail for 38 years retiring in 1985, during which he was awarded 25 years accident free service. In addition, Gerald was actively involved in his municipality as a Alderman in Kinnaird / Castlegar for 24 years (1956 - 1980) and sat on the Central Regional District Board, as well as, the BC Municipal Finance Authority.
