Suddenly at Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, of Joan Kay Oatway of Poplar Grove aged 60, special friend of Bobby MacLeod. Born in Freeland on Nov. 14, 1947, the daughter of Frances (Winn) Banks, of Ellerslie and the late James Banks. Cherished mother of Myrna Albert (Chris Harvey), East Bideford; Cecil (Amanda), Summerside. Loving grandmother of six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Step mother of Jimmy and Lynn MacLeod both of Summerside. Dear sister of Gertie Adams, Sambro, N.S.; Carolyn (Willard) Lewis, Cascumpec; Mary (Billy) Ellands, Ellerslie; Frank (Melissa) Banks, Decker Road. Sister-in-law of Kent Atherton, Saint John, N.B.; Garry Wilson, Inverness. Niece of James Winn, Tyne Valley. Also survived by the father of her children Garry Oatway of Conway. Predeceased by a brother Sterling and sisters Katherine, Myrna and brother-in-law Lewis Adams. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Foxley River at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the Freeland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
