HUNKO 1941 - 2007 Ken Hunko was born 2 November, 1941 on the family farm north of Stenen, Sask. and passed away peacefully on 19 March, 2007 at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops. He is survived by his loving wife, Donah, children Wes (Natalie) of Kamloops, Colin (Laina) of Port Hardy, grandchildren Brian and Nathan of Kamloops, Baby Hunko due in May, sisters Maxine Nelson (Ken White) of Edmonton, Millie Vandale (Grant) of Victoria, four sisters-in-law and their spouses, many nieces and nephews, his uncle and aunts in Sask, as well as several cousins across Canada and the US. He was predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law. Ken attended high school in Sturgis and vocational school in Moose Jaw. After graduation, Ken began his long and extensive career as an electrical contractor. He worked in Sask, and in the mid-1960's moved to BC. Ken excelled in his chosen field and loved his work. He was not just an electrician - he worked with passion and professionalism, owning his own company for many years. He became a part of every job, looking after the concerns of the client, providing excellent workmanship and sharing his incredible knowledge with others. Ken taught home wiring at Cariboo College (now TRU) and on many occasions, offered personal instruction to those who were willing to learn. Ken followed up after his jobs, and often had referrals for jobs many years after his original contact with a client. He even made house calls while confined to a wheel chair. Ken never allowed physical ailments to stop him.
