LILY MABEL GARDINER (NELSON) 1933 - 2007 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Lil Gardiner on March 19th, 2007. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Lil is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill, son Les (Vera Lynn) of Kimberly, daughter Wendy (Bob) Watt of Lone Butte, brother Bill (Norma) Nelson of Darfield, sisters in law Betty Heron and Irene Passmore of Kamloops, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Mabel Nelson. Lil was born and raised in Kamloops, a Kam High grad, lived her entire life in Kamloops, with a two year adventure in Willow Flats, and loved talking about the old days. She was an exceptional homemaker. Tending her garden, spoiling her grandchildren and playing the old tunes on her mandolin accompanied by husband Bill on his guitar were her joys. Trips to the "homestead" was a cherished time. One of the "old Woodwards Hardware gang" where she enjoyed many memories. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Blueberry Unit of Overlander Extended Care Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care provided Lil during her time there. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 24th, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Kamloops Funeral Home, with Reverend Dan Hines officiating. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Box 277, Stn. "M", Kamloops, B.C., V2C 5K6, or a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
