JULIA MARTIN 1923 - 2007 Julia (nee Kaufhold) was born on April 5, 1923 at Kanigsau, Austria and passed away on March 22, 2007 at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her daughter Helene (Stewart Jeffery), grandchildren Hillary and Mackenzie of Kamloops. Julia is predeceased by her husband, Rene. Julia immigrated to Canada in 1949 and married Rene Martin on November 21, 1950. For their first years of marriage, they lived in Paradise Hill and Frenchman's Butte, Saskatchewan. They finally moved to Mont Nebo, Saskatchewan which they called "HOME". In Mont Nebo, Julia was an active member of the Community Club. In May 1998 Julia moved to Kamloops to be closer to her family and resided at Cottonwood Manor for the following 8 years. While living at Cottonwoods she was an active volunteer. Julia was very proud of her grandchildren. Julia was most at home in the kitchen. She loved to cook, bake, quilt and garden. We all miss those fresh, homemade buns. She was a hard worker and her love of animals, especially cats was evident. When she moved into Thrupp Manor in 2006 she adopted the manor cat. Special thanks to Dr. John Reid, the Area 1 nurses and the RIH 3 West nursing staff. Should you wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 1412, Kamloops, B.C.
