NEW GLASGOW – Mary passed away peacefully at Glen Haven Manor on Monday, December 7, 2009.
Born on April 3, 1926, she was the youngest child of John James Campbell and Annie MacIsaac of Westville.
From the age of 14, Mary worked at the family company, I. Matheson & Son; and after graduating from St. F.X. University in 1946, she worked there full-time. The same year, she married Donald Hugh Cameron of Antigonish.
Mary was a loving, caring, supportive wife, mother and friend, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Many will remember sitting at the kitchen table at 790 Trenton Road for terrific meals and lots of laughter.
Mary was predeceased by her parents and siblings: John, Clarence, Jen, Allan, Michael, and Elizabeth “Libbyâ€; husband Donald and son Allan “Selbyâ€.
She is survived by children: Dawn Huczel (Peter), John (Carol), Michael (Joy), daughter-in-law Jane, Donald “Kissie†(Dolores), Mary MacDonald (David). She is also survived by grandchildren: Kirsten, Stefanie; Colin, Brian, and Mark; Andrew and Sean; Ian and Evan; Lindsay and Zack; Hugh and Gael; and three great-grandchildren.
Mary will be waked at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, on Thursday, December 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, Friday, December 11, at 1:30 p.m. with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
