The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Saturday, July 5th, 2008, of Shirley Mary DesRoche (nee Walsh) of Slemon Park, aged 66 years. Shirley was born on July 9th, 1941, in Summerside, P.E.I., to her father, the late David C. Walsh and her mother Minnie (nee Arsenault) Walsh-Blacquiere of the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside. Loving mother of Michael (Sandra) of Summersideside, John (Joanne) of Cambridge, N.S., Donna of Slemon Park, Kendell of Grand River and Danielle of Slemon Park. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, Peter, Melanie, Jenna, Sara, Jennifer, Joshua and Ashley. Survived by her brothers Wendall Walsh of Vancouver, B.C. & Jack (Patricia) Walsh of Moncton, N.B., and her sister Arlene (Phillip) Woodford of Summerside. Shirley was predeceased by her father David Walsh and also her husband and dear friend Peter DesRoche. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Tuesday evening only, 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no memorial service held, however interment and a committal service will take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside, at a later date.
