It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Bruce Millar in his 99th year. Beloved husband of K. Joan (Lyon) Millar 1915 - 1991, mother of their four children, and Oriel Selby MacDonald 1916 - 2008. Dearly loved and devoted father of Wendy (Vern Matheuszik), William (Ingrid Gajkowski), Linda (Donald MacPhee), and Deborah (Richard Egan). Dearest great grandfather of Adrienne, Jesse, Kierra, Dylan, Laura, Jordan, Rachel, Olivia, Liem, Sophia, Doan, and Benjamin. He will be missed by his extended family and friends.

Born in Danville QC to Emily Mary (Towne) Millar and Robert John Millar. Predeceased by all his siblings, Gibson, Gordon, little sister Frances, and Donald.

As a young man he began his career at the Canadian Marconi Company in Drummondville QC, and went on to become manager of the Canadian Overseas Telecommunication Corporation station there. He was also involved in Atlantic cable installation and repairs, serving aboard the C.S. Lord Kelvin, and at Matane QC, in that capacity. He retired in 1974 after 43 years with the same company. COTC became Teleglobe in 1975. He has lived in Napanee since 1985.

Bruce was an accomplished musician, played in bands (saxophone) and had his own band for years. He built and fixed anything. There was little he could not do, and little that did not interest him.

Lemire, Drummondville, QC. Visitation Wednesday, March 7th at 12:30 p.m. Funeral service at 3:30 p.m. and interment following at Drummondville Protestant Cemetery, Golf Road. Donations may be offered in his memory to The John M. Parrott Centre, 309 Bridge Street West, Napanee, ON, K7R 2G4, or to a charity of your choice.

Dad-Grand and Great, our kind and gentle soul.

Safe in the arms of Jesus... 'til we meet again. We miss you.
