MAXWELL James E. Maxwell passed away in his sleep on November 10, 2006 at Pouce Coupe, B.C. Jim was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan on April 22, 1939. Jim worked in the trucking, mining, oil field and logging industry until his retirement. Jim will always be remembered as a "big hearted", jovial fellow who loved to dance, hunt, fish, and ride horses. Jim's biggest attribute was his loyalty to his family and friends. Jim was a big, tough man but very sentimental, compassionate and soft hearted. He was an avid supporter of all activities that his wife and children were involved in and drove mega miles to enhance that support, thereby maybe fulfilling some of his dreams. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Gracie May Burns, and his father, Walter William Maxwell. Jim is survived by his wife, Mona Maxwell of Farmington, B.C.; three sons: Dwight (Jane) Peart of Yellowknife, NWT; Wes (Jackie) Maxwell of Sexsmith, Alberta; and Quintin (Val) Maxwell of Farmington, B.C.; nine grandchildren: Julie, George, Eddie, Sheldon, Morgan, Leah, Key, Naolin and Matthiew; three sisters: Gloria, Vernice and Faye; two brothers: Ken and Lance; one uncle (Tom), 3 aunts (Margaret, Helen, and Doreen) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all that had the privilege of crossing his path. A "celebration of his life" will be held on May 20th at Woodlawn Regional Park in Estevan, Saskatchewan. If you plan to attend please contact Wes or Jackie Maxwell at 780-568-3745. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
