DRAGATIS, JAMES - James Basil Dragatis, 63, of Nasonworth NB, died peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on March 5, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Glace Bay, NS, he is the son of James Basil Dragatis (Halifax) and the late Mary Jane Dragatis (Fredericton). Jim was a member of the RCAF for 33 years. He worked with Royal LePage Relocation Services in CFB Gagetown for 10 years and with the Corps of Commissionaires in the last year. He was an active member of the Oromocto Legion, and Gage Golf and Curling Clubs for the past ten years. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Judy (Jardine) Dragatis; his son, Jerry (Laura) Jardine; daughter, Kerri (Stephen) Dragatis Forrest; and his son, James Dragatis; and two grandsons, Ryan and Jacob. Jim was a wonderfully devoted, loving and funny, husband; father; son; brother; uncle; cousin and friend to many. He will be forever missed by those he has left behind.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 will hold a tribute service at 7 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, March 9 at 2 pm with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Donations in memory of Jim can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oromocto Legion. Condolences to the family can made through www.oromoctofh.com.
