JOGGINS The death of Edith Donelda \"Donnie\" Edwards, age 83, occurred at the Gables Lodge, Amherst on Saturday, December 12, 2009.
Born in Chignecto, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Edith (Berry) Smith.
A home body, she was accomplished in the arts of homemaking, being a good wife, an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a member of the Joggins United Church.
Donnie will be sadly missed by her husband, Lionel Edwards; sisters: Blanch Gates of Shediac, NB, Alvina Jollymore (Bill) , Thelma Burbine, Clara White, Fern Burbine (Ronald), Elaine Smith all of River Hebert and Gladys McEachern of Amherst; a brother, Lloyd Smith, Amherst.
Donnie\'s remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777) from where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11 am, followed by a reception in the funeral home. A time of visitation will be held on tuesday from 9 am until the time of the funeral at 11. Burial in the River Hebert Cemetery in the spring.
