Peacefully at the Palliative Care unit of the Western Hospital Alberton on Wednesday July 16, 2008, with his loving family by his side of Paul Joseph Doucette of Riverview Drive, Fortune Cove, and formally of St. Peter and St. Paul, age 64 years. Beloved and devoted husband to Sylvia nee Blanchard Doucette. Born in DeBlois, P.E.I., on Oct. 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Emma nee Poirier Doucette. Cherished father to Gloria (Phillip) Waite of St. Roch, and Maureen (Alfred) Gallant of Huntley. Loving grandfather to Melissa Gallant (fiance Nick Corrigan), Hilary Gallant, Whitney Gallant, Matthew Gallant and Kelsey Waite. Dear brother to Cecilia (late Peter) Gaudet of Tignish, Anita (late Gerry) Gaudet of Hamilton, Lucy (Albert) Perry of DeBlois, Lawrence (Louise) of Moncton, Vincent (Alma) of Greenmount, Raymond (Tessie) of Toronto, LeRoy of Cascumpec, Louis of Cobourg, Ont., Jean (Matt) Roop of Wyoming, Ont., Richard of Toronto, Wilbert of DeBlois, Rosalie (Vincent) Doucette of Harper Road, Victor (Cathy) of Harper Road. Brother-in-law to Edward (Mary) Blanchard of St. Edwards, Adrain (Joan) Blanchard of Whitby, Ont., Bernice (Nat) Distefano of Scarbrough, Ont., Nelson (Dot) Blanchard of Charlottetown, Bill (Gladys) Bellefontaine of Belleville, Ont., Paul was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Emma, his son, Randell, a brother, Francis and by two brothers-in-law, as well as a sister-in-law, Peter Gaudet, Gerry Gaudet and Doreen Bellefontaine. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday morning from St. Simon and St. Judes Church Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
