The family of the late Raymond Lewis who passed away on October 30, 2009, wishes to express sincere appreciation to all who phoned, sent food, sympathy cards, flowers, emails and memorial donations. Thank you to those who attended the wake and funeral and traveled distances to be with us, your kindness touched our hearts. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Sampson and Rita for many years of dedication and caring for Dad. The staffs of 4A of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Palliative Care Unit were compassionate and caring to Dad and the family. The Pallbearers were cherished grandchildren, Noel MacDonald, Sean Lewis, Steven Lewis, Michael Gushue, Bryan Gushue, Stephen MacDonald, Katelyn O'Shea, Jennifer Gushue and Dawn Marie Tanner. The reader's during the funeral service were daughter Margaret Gushue, daughter in law, Maurina Lewis, son in law Rev. Bob Hussey and son in law Pat O'Shea. Son, Neil Lewis delivered a beautiful eulogy that captured the true spirit of Dad and his beliefs but mostly the love and sense of pride he had for his family. Thank you to Rev. Maggie Coleman for your compassion and kindness. Thank you to organist Ken MacKenzie, choir of Trinity United Church and soloist Eddie Paris for your beautiful solo "His Eye in on the Sparrow". Many thanks to the Bethany Unit of Trinity United Church for the beautiful reception and lunch. Special thank you to Cassilda Barry who came to our rescue once again and took care of our needs, you were a bright spot in may of Dad's days. Thank you to Sydney Memorial Chapel and Wayne, John and Kolin for your professionalism and friendship. God Bless each and every one of you, we will be forever grateful. Dad's love, stories and teachings will live on forever in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
