Kathryn “Kay” Baker - 87, of New Minas, passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2012 in New Minas with her son, Kevin at her side. Born in Port Union, NL in 1924 she was the daughter of the late George and Daisy House. Kay was a long time resident of Centreville and New Minas. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Baker in 1990. Kay is survived by four children, Levi John (Christine), Bedford; Glennis (Winston) and Roy, all of Sarnia and Kevin (Alanna), Centreville. She was a loving grandmother to Kathy (Craig) and Kelly (Eric), British Columbia; Barbara (Lee) and Christopher (Margaret), Ontario. Also a proud great grandmother to Lachlin and Caleigh, George and Tilley, British Columbia and Christopher, Jessica and Natalie, Ontario. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. One of her greatest joys was spending time at Tim Hortons with friends. Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service and interment will be held at a later date in NL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
