HOUDE - Cecile Marie of Ponteix, SK passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Cecile was born on January 1, 1917. After leaving school, she worked as a domestic for many families around their neighborhood. After moving to town, Cecile found employment at Notre Dame Convent in Ponteix, SK. Needless to say her work was satisfactory, the Sisters kept her on the staff for 27 years. She retired at 65 spending her free time knitting and playing cards. She was an angel who loved everybody around her. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral mass was held Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM from Notre Dame of Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Ponteix, SK with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. Crossbearer was Cecile Lemieux, pallbearers were Edward Prive, Guy Roberge, Omer Houde, Steve Gillis, Richard Lemieux and Andy Prive. Organist was Daniel Roberge accompanying the Ponteix Catholic Church Choir. Interment service was held following the funeral at the Ponteix Parish Cemetery. Cecile was predeceased by her father Eugene and mother Blanche, two brothers Emilien and Romeo, four sisters Julienne, Helene, Annette and Beatrice.
