
Muriel Brine
It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother, Muriel Maude Brine (nee Berry), 84, of Little Forks on Thursday, March 8, 2012, while surrounded by her family at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, NS.
Muriel was born in River Hebert, NS, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Elsie (Morris) Berry.
Muriel loved to knit, play bingo, reading and playing darts. She was employed for Northern Telecom for 19 years. She was a member of the River Hebert and Springhill Royal Canadian Legion as well as a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas CWL.
Muriel will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her nine children, Elsie (the late, Eric) Grant, Northport, Susan (Maurice) Wilson, River Hebert, Valerie Nichols, Little Forks, Garfield (Susan), Little Forks, Edwin (Helen), and, Mark (Sherry), both of Maccan, Christopher (Carolyn), Calgary AB, Timothy (Linda), Northport, and Leonard (Tina), Nappan; brothers, Raymond (Pat) Berry, Springhill and Bill (Leona) Berry, Calgary AB; sisters, Jennie (Harold) Fage, Amherst, Leta (Rod) Briggs, Empress AB, Sarah (Mike) Ward, Doreen Holland and Sharon (Allison) Taylor all of Calgary AB, Margaret Woodworth, Comox BC; sister in law, Evelyn David, Amherst; twenty grandchildren; six great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Garfield Sr.; son, Frank; sisters, Mabel Fagan, Nellie Berry, Verlie Brine, Charlotte Ward, and Delores and Eileen in infancy; brother, Leonard “Sonny.”
Cremation has taken place.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Joggins with Father Philippe Thibodeau officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Ragged Reef Cemetery.
