It is with sadness that the families of the late Monnie Stead announce her passing at the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, NL at the age of 60 years. Monnie is predeceased by her granddaughter, Noelle Tulk; father, Norman Anstey. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are; husband, Scott Mercer; children, Chris (Shelley) of Bradford, ON, Cory (Kayla) of Grand Falls-Windsor, and David (Marlaina) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; her princess, Abby; mother, Dorcas Anstey of Cottlesville, NL; mother-in-law, Jessie; grandchildren, Samantha, and Dylan; brothers, Rayfield (Margaret), and Eugene (Velma); sister, Judy (Brian); brother-in-laws, John (Betty), Victor (Cindy), Ducan (Barbara), Dennis (Gail), Charlie; sisters, Sharon (Walter), Linda (Walter), Mhairi (Conrad) and families; as well as a large number if nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation took place Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 7-9 pm, Friday, March 2, 2012 at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. The funeral service took place Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2 pm from Evangel Pentecostal Church, Grenfell Heights, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. The interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory were made to the Cancer Society. Pallbearers were, Chris Stead, Cory Stead, David Mercer, Eugene Anstey, John Mercer, and Brian Saunders.
