NICHOLSON, HAZEL MARY - 1928-2012 - It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Mary Nicholson, 83, on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital with her two daughters by her side. Born in Little Shemogue, Hazel was a daughter of the late Alfred and Evangeline (Duguay) Niles. Hazel had been an avid gardener and lover of animals with a passion for caring for any injured animals. She was a great stepdancer with a love for music; having travelled and played at dances with her dad throughout the maritimes. Hazel was a fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays and had bowled for 40 years, including a period with the Moncton Hubsters. She was a loving Nanny and Great-Nanny. She loved her family and friends and kept the local bakers in business with her insistence that everyone had to have a cake to celebrate any occasion. She will be sadly missed by her husband Norman of 63 years; two daughters, Jean (Terry) Woods of Moncton and Joyce (Ronald) Nicholson-Huestis of Dartmouth, NS; son Lee of Moncton; a special daughter-in-law, Delores of Miramichi; a granddaughter, Lisa; grandson, Troy; grandson-in-law, Pat; two very special great granddaughters, Taylor and Sadie; special pets, Woody and Peaches; two brothers, John of Fitchburg, MA and Edward (Rejean) of Shemogue; a sister, Eileen Forest of Amherst, NS and a cousin, Diane of Port Elgin. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Lewis, Ernest, and Henry; a sister, Rita; sisters-in-law, Bertha and Bernice; brothers-in-law, Bill and Ernest and a nephew, Harry.
