Casilda Boyd Daly (nee Mary Ellen Casilda Boyd) died peacefuly December 8, 2009 at her residence in Indian River Shores.
She was born January 12, 1925 in River Bourgeois, Nova Scotia, Canada, and moved to Indian River Shores 28 years ago from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Mrs. Daly was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Vero Beach. She was also a former member of Bent Pine Golf Club as well as a member of Quail Valley Club, both in Vero Beach. A very generous person, Casilda Daly supported many different institutions and charities, both locally and nationally.
Mrs. Daly was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Jack Daly in 2001. She is survived by her son, Peter Daly of Woodside, CA; daughters, Jo-Ann Lee of Pleasant Hill, CA, Avis Daly of Vero Beach, FL, Carol Dove of Jackson, MI and Alexia Jurschak of Katonah, NY; brothers, Blaise Boyd and Peter Boyd of River Bourgeois, Nova Scotia, George Boyd of Sydney, Nova Scotia; sisters, Lucille Bradshaw of Vancouver, B.C., Peggy Boyd of Mississauga, Ontario and Betty Johnson of Woodland Hills, CA and 12 grandchildren.
Casilda was a devoted wife whose supportive nature was invaluable to her adoring husband. She was an exceptional mother to her five children, offering unconditional love always. She was aloving grandmother who cared dearly for each of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful sister to her siblings. Casilda Daly was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend who will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Friends may call 3 to 5 PM Sunday, Demember 13, 2009 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Interment will follow in John's Island Cemetery, Indian River Shores, FL.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Mrs. Daly.
