The death occurred peacefully with family at her side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, of Rebecca Jessome, a veteran of the Second World War, of Stratford and formerly of Margate, age 92. Rebecca was the beloved wife of the late Eric Jessome. Loving mother of Gail Ling (John Coles) and Carolyn Jessome. Grandmother of Jason Ling (Robin) and Michael Ling (Denise) and great-grandmother of Christian, Brianna and Cassandra. She is also survived by her sisters, Annette MacLeod, Bertha Weatherbee, Ruth Gallant and Wanda MacMurdo; sisters-in-law, Wanda Stewart, Lillian Stewart, Betty Jessome and Sylvia Jessome; numerous nieces and nephews; and all those who called her "Gram". Besides her husband, Rebecca was predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Ellen (MacNeill) Stewart; her son, Donald, in infancy; and four brothers and three sisters. No visitation by personal request. A graveside service will be held later in the spring. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Community of Miltonvale Park, designated for the Reconstruction Fund for the North Milton Community Hall, would be appreciated.
