It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected and tragic death of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend Edna. She was taken from our lives on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the age of 88 years in Kamloops, BC.
Edna was born on September 6, 1921 in Taunton, England. She is survived by her loving family, husband Clarence Scott of Kamloops, daughters; Georgina (George) Rand of Hardisty, AB, Bonnie (Richard) Sikorski of Flatbush, AB, Teanna (Lawrence) Boivin of Kamloops, BC, Wendy (Howard) Witter of Grande Prairie, AB also ten grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren which is soon to be 25.
Edna was predeceased by her first husband of 40 years, Harry Watt, her eldest daughter at the age of 4, infant granddaughter and a grandson of 19 years, all her siblings and parents.
Edna received her nurse's certificate (LPN) in 1964, she enjoyed quilting, volunteer work, crocheting, church activities and spending time with her family. Edna had resided in Peace River, AB, Penticton, Summerland, Kelowna, Cranbrook and Kamloops.
A Memorial Service will be held for Edna at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 6th Ave and Douglas Street. Pastor Harold Wiest will be officiating.
An Urn Interment will take place by her family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes or to Kidney Research.
We wish to thank all members of the churches that Edna attended, we also extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at the Renaissance Retirement Home who have given her continuing comfort and care during her life and support to her family throughout this difficult time.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 250-554-2324.
