It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leon Nicholas Bourgeois announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the age of 69 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: his special companion, Elizabeth Carter of Corner Brook; his children: Lisa Bourgeois (David Sparkes) of Georgetown, NL, Richard Bourgeois of Thunder Bay, ON, Trevor Bourgeois of Benoit’s Cove, Crystal Bourgeois (Jeffrey Bennett) of Benoit’s Cove; grandchildren: Joshua Thomas of Campbellford, ON, Jacinda Bennett of Benoit’s Cove, Jonathon Thomas of Oshawa, ON, Jennifer Thomas of Oshawa, ON, Megan Marshall of Ucluelet, BC, Zoe Bennett of Benoit’s Cove, Lucas Bennett of Benoit’s Cove; great-grandchild, Curtis McCarthy of Benoit’s Cove; brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, William & Theresa Bourgeois and a number of siblings. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, December 11, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Benoit’s Cove with Father Buckle officiating. Cremation will take place. Interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
