It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Harold Krivel. He passed away peacefully at his family home on March 3, 2012 at the age of 91. He was a wonderful and dedicated Pediatrician, teacher, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and a friend to many. He graduated from the University of Alberta in medicine and completed his paediatric training at Columbia University. His post-graduate work was done at Harvard. He worked at Children’s Hospital from its’ very beginnings. Other than being at the office, some of his happiest times were at his cabin at Whistler or playing tennis and golf at the Richmond County Club with his friends and family. He is predeceased by his wife Rita. He is survived by his children, Gail, Kathi, Karen and Louise. His 6 grandchildren and his 2 great-grandchildren. We will miss his love, unconditional support, wonderful advice and laughter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Harold Krivel Prize in Paediatrics at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine.
