It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Delorey on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2009, at the IWK hospital, Halifax.
Born in Calgary, Alta., he was the son of Jason Delorey and Veronica Fraser and he attended Harbourside Elementary School, Sydney.
Besides his parents, James is survived by his brother, Jesse; grandparents, Philip and Annette (Bailey) Delorey, Antigonish, George and Donna (MacIsaac) Fraser, South Bar; great-grandmother, Mary A. Delorey; aunt, Laura Fraser; uncles, Kyle Delorey and George Fraser (Cynthia Naismith); several cousins; and special saviour, Chance.
James enjoyed life to the fullest, you could always hear him giggling throughout the day. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially Jesse who he wrestled with playfully. He was a kind and thoughtful little boy who had a kiss and a hug for his mom whenever she asked. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing and running in the yard with Chance. His love for adventure led him down a path where he will always and forever be safe.
Visitation will take place Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, with Fr. Errol MacDonald officiating.
