It is with deep regret and great sorrow that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of P.J. MacIntyre at home on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Carolyn (Boutilier) MacIntyre, Glace Bay, and Peter MacIntyre, Sydney.
P.J. was a great bagpipe player, he enjoyed the outdoors and was a hard worker.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Alice (Johnson) MacIntyre; his stepchildren, Kadnii Johnson, Kailee Johnson; siblings, Heather MacIntyre, Carrie MacIntyre (Mike), Francis MacIntyre, Billy (Nancy) Drinkwater, Clyde Hayes, Patrick Boutilier; several nieces and nephews, as well as his special friends, Mary Katherine Francis (Deet) and Katherine Gouthro.
Visitation will be held today (Friday), Dec. 11, 2009, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Norman McPhee officiating. Interment to follow in St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Grand Mira.
