Kathleen Marie Jones (nee Demmon) Jan. 15, 1913 - May 1, 2007 A Westwold pioneer passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on May 1, 2007. On January 15, 2007 we celebrated Mom's 94th birthday, in grand style, at Parkside Estates Retirement Center in Chase where she was a resident for the past two years. Mom leaves her memories to her husband of 74 years, Roderic, her children Bill (Marie), Carol (Henry), Bob (Sharon), Barry (Joan), Nancy (Dennis) and predeceased by Gordon in 1951. Also sharing Mom's memories are sister Margaret Starratt brother Arthur Demmon, 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. To summarize Mom's 94 event filled years into 94 words or less would be a daunting undertaking. Her sharp wit and dignified sense of humor prevailed until the very end. Mom's body and soul have moved on but her spirit will remain with us. We wish to sincerely thank Dr. Grant McCallum, nurses and staff in the lower level of Shuswap Lake General Hospital, for their kindness and compassion during Mom's short Hospital stay. A memorial and celebration of life will be held in Westwold at a later date. Anyone wishing to express their memories may do so to the charity of your choice.
