ELLEN FLORENCE HUNT We regret to announce the passing of Ellen Florence Hunt (Barker). She passed peacefully in her sleep at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on May 5, 2007. Ellen was born in Ashcroft, BC on February 13, 1940 to Fred and Bessie Barker. She spent some time on ranches where her dad was foreman. Later they moved to Kamloops. Ellen married Doug Hunt at Kamloops on November 5, 1960 and started a family moving to Armstrong in 1972. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years Doug, her children Darcy Strynadka (Dwayne), Bruce Hunt, Shawn Hunt, Terry Hickman (Rick), seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also sister Gloria Bagg, brothers Dennis Barker, Edward Barker, Bill Barker, Jim Wilson, Ray Wilson. She also is survived by extended family and many friends. Her very close friends Carol Maxson, Myrtle Halverson, Corinne Jeppesen and many more friends. Ellen was predeceased by Fred Barker, Theresa Barker, Bessie Wilson, John Wilson, Jason Bagg, Jamie Bagg. She will be well remembered for her feistiness and sense of humour, her care and love of family which always came first. She was well known as a fine cook and she specialized in wholesome meals and excellent pies. She had two nicknames which are "cookie" and "little mama". Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church Armstrong, 3185 Becker Street on Thursday, May 10th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Tea to follow.
