LOUNSBURY, INA - As the face of Jesus came into view, Ina never hesitated a moment as her Lord and Savior extended His hand with an invitation to come home for her birthday. Ina completed her earthly journey on Friday, March 16, 2012, while a resident of Pine Grove Nursing Home. Ina Sadie Appleton Lounsbury was born March 18, 1921 in Grey Rapids, N.B., daughter of the late Sadie (Henderson) Curtis and Justus Curtis. She was a lady of great faith and attended the Apostolic Church in Noonan. Ina loved to sing and dance and Praise the Lord so her 91st birthday in her brand new heavenly home will be a celebration like no other. Well done thy good and faithful servant! Ina was a former employee at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel and made many lasting friendships during her years there. Ina leaves behind to treasure her memory, a son Zane Lounsbury (Patricia) of Lower Queensbury and three daughters, Shirley Burgess (Harvey) and Edith Maillet both of Fredericton and Julie Skaling (Peter) of Nackawic. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Rocky Bruce of Airdrie, AB, Vicky Snow, Calgary, AB, Jackie Jackson, Airdrie, AB, April Firth, Calgary AB, Chrystal Firth, Calgary AB, Tanya Munn, Fredericton, Stoney Munn, Fredericton, Troy Munn, Saint John, Robyn Chambers, Fredericton, Jeremiah Lounsbury, Buctouche, NB, Karyn Lounsbury, Victoria, BC, Stacy Skaling, Fredericton, Stephanie Skaling, Nackawic, Gordon Skaling, Nackawic and Megan Skaling, Nackawic; also 15 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Ina was predeceased by her parents; husband Emery Lounsbury (1989) and sisters Elsie Sullivan and Pansy MacDonald.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. A celebration of Ina’s life and faith will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating assisted by Pastor Grant Cassel. Interment will be in the Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date.
