GAMBLIN , HERBERT - After a courageous battle with Lewy-Body Alzheimers, the death of Herbert Gamblin Crawford, age 71, husband of the late Shirley Pearl (Frazee) Crawford occurred at Embassy Hall, Shannex, Quispamsis, NB, on Friday, March 16, 2012. He was born in Saint John, NB, on February 2, 1941, the son of the late Herbert and Grace (Gamblin) Crawford. He is survived by son Steven Crawford (Darren) of Saint John; daughters Susan and Stephen MacDonald of Norton, and Heather and Randy Justason of Pocologan; grandchildren Matthew and Chelsi Martin, Caleb MacDonald, Otty, Nick and Ina Justason; sisters Elva Orchard of Norton, and Margaret and Jim Swan of Old Town, ME; aunts Mary Dalton of Florida, and Bert and Bob Neal of Saint John; brothers-in-law Eldon Wilson of St. Stephen, Everett and Joanne Frazee of Midland; sisters-in-law Ruth and Bill Sherwood of Norton, Maddy and Winston McIntyre of St. Martins, Ina Frazee of Kiersteadville, Anna and Jim McCrea of Shannon and Helen and Walter Branscombe of Long Point; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant twin brother, sisters Vera Wilson and Una Slumski; and niece Lynn Chamberlain.
The family will receive visitors at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Monday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration Service of Herb’s life, conducted by Pastor Wayne Murphy, will be held from Norton United Baptist Church, Norton, NB, at 11:00 am. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. A private family interment will take place later in Midland Cemetery. Donations to Shannex Embassy Hall or the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
