Mildred Francis Karoline (Kay) Sharpe
Sharpe, Mildred Francis Karoline (Kay), 70. It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Kay on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home in Great Village surrounded by her loved ones. Born July 10, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Blair Densmore and her adopted parents the late William and Lovica Quinn. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, reading books, talking on the phone and watching TV, especially curling with her husband Tom She always welcomed everyone with an open door and with a warm loving heart and a table full of food. Kay cared for everyone. For the past 37 years she took into their home and cared for Charlie and Laurie Sharpe as well as her mother Lovica and father-in-law Lawrence.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Thomas James Sharpe; sons, Robbie (Heather) of Dartmouth, Tim (Donna) of Great Village, John (Susan) of Alberta, Harold (Patti) of Great Village, Greg (Susan) of Londonderry; daughters Susan MacLeod (Lester) of Valley, Norma Johnson (Doug) of Ottawa; brothers, Gary Densmore (Irene) and Melvin Densmore (Debbie) both of BC; sisters Donna Spencer (Larry) and Elaine Moore (Bill) both of BC; 12-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by a brother, Norman Densmore.
Visitation will take place from 2pm until funeral service time at 3 pm, Wednesday, March 21st, in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. David Lloyd-Pearce will officiate with burial at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the V.O.N. Home Care, Truro, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice. Kays family would like to thank the V.O.N. Home Care, V.O.N. Nurses, the Palliative Care Team, Dr. David Henderson and Sue Gibson for the loving care and support given to Kay.
