WILLIAM "DAVE" GLOVER JUNE 12, 1954 - MAY 29,2007 On May 29th at 7:38 p.m. Dave passed away†in the loving care of†the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice staff†still valiantly fighting a long and aggressive battle with cancer. He will be forever loved and missed by his loving family, many wonderful friends and all of his co-workers at the B.C. Lotteries Corp. Dave was pre-deceased by his†parents Wm Russell and Gwen Glover. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Marlene (Robins), his strong & handsome son William (Bill) "Cole", and his beautiful young daughter Jennifer Kayla.††He is also survived by his only brother, William "Ross", Bev and their two wonderful sons Matthew & Brock from Kelowna. Dave will be sorely missed by his In-Laws Levi & Ann Robins, Laurie Robins of Edmonton and Lee & Robin Robins of Sunland, WA.†His passing will be felt strongly by his numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins†on both sides of the family as well. Dave was born in Brandon, MB and being an "Army Brat" the family moved many times until they settled in Kelowna, BC. In 1973 Dave moved to Edmonton for†work and then†made the decision†in October 1974 to join the Brave Soldiers of the Canadian Armed Forces, and was†posted to CFB Comox 407 Squadron as an Air Weapons†Technician until is honorable release in September 1980. This turned out to be†the best decision of his life as by going to Comox he met and fell instantly in love with the†"Love of his Life" and "Soul Mate", Marlene, a young Private who came to work for him in September 1978. Dave & Marlene were married in Kamloops on May 24th, 1980. After Dave's release he moved to Kamloops and secured a position at the Royal Inland Hospital until 1983 where he made another career decision and became employed by the B.C. Lotteries Corp. Dave spent many happy & wonderful years at the Lotteries†where he became dubbed "Super Dave". Dave loved his new career and worked and received his University Degree and moved up the ladder to become the Senior Corporate Security & Draws Officer. Dave gave back the results of his good fortune in life by donating his time to our local community. He did this by giving his personal time to many good works, just a few examples are;†being part of the†Security Team for the 1993 Canada Summer Games, volunteering for the Salvation Army and even playing Santa Claus for the BC Lotteries Children's Xmas Party,†for years before and after having children of his own. Dave loved the outdoors and everything nature had to offer by camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking, wilderness treks, but most of all Dave loved his motorcycles -- just†cruising†down the highway with his brother Ross enjoying our beautiful Country and†also the†USA. Dave went on many, many wild & crazy adventures with his family, relatives or even just†with his†Best Friend Gerry Boychuk. Dave had a magnificant sense of humour†an amazingly quick wit and was a terrific Host along with his partner Marlene. He was well-known for his "Goofy" looks, big warm hugs and an abundance of compassion for people and animals. Wm David Glover will be genuinely missed by all his family and friends and†everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.†His passing will leave a huge hole in our lives which we hope eventually our love for him and time itself will heal by all our fondest memories of his time with us. A Memorial Service in celebration of Dave's wonderful life is open to all who wish to attend or you may send†your thoughts and/or memories to: sympathy@shawbiz.ca. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC. Should you desire, donations may be made in honour of Dave's life and passing to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC†V2E 2S9†. This Hospice is an absolutely "Incredible" facility for the dying and their families and even their pets to find refuge in luxury, calmness, quiet and extraordinary care by the staff and many Volunteers.†Our sincere and heartful "Thanks" go out to all the staff and volunteers who helped our family through this trying time. God Bless.
