Joseph Arthur "Art" Daigle
DAIGLE, JOSEPH ARTHUR (ART) - 1927-2012 - Arthur Daigle, 85, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Art was the son of Vincent Daigle and Mary Goguen. He was born in Chatham, NB on February 27, 1927. He was predeceased by four brothers, Peter, Walter, Thomas and Gerald; four sisters Delima, Viola, Clara, and Theresa. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Art worked at Air Canada for 38 years and after his retirement lived in Brookville, NS for many years before he moved to Saint John to live with his niece Joan (Blair) LeBlanc. After failing health he lived at the Loch Lomond Villa. Art loved to work with his hands making mats, woodworking and making boats out of cardboard which won him awards at the Saint John Exhibition three years in a row. He also made love knots out of paper which he gave away and are treasured in many parts of the world. Art loved to play cards, amongst his favourites were crib, 45s and crazy eights. Art had many friends and will be sadly missed.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home. By Art's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Loch Lomond Villa on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Michael's Basilica (12 Howard Street, Chatham, NB) on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.
