Doris Sophia Custer, 89, of Parkersburg passed away at Camden - Clark Memorial Hospital on December 9., 2009.
She was born February 10, 1920 in Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Sidney and Margaret Bailey Rogers.
She met her husband Darel Kent Custer while he was in Canada. They were married for 53 years.
Doris is survived by two sons Kent Custer of Ohio, Kevin Custer and wife Beth, of Ohio,, seven grandchildren, Kent Jr., Shawn, Renee and Charity Custer, Todd, Kristie, and Heather Suggs, five great grandchildren Grey D Wolf, Justin Custer, Kourtney custer, Scott Custer, Zoe Wolf and her special great grandson Sean Ard, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews and her dog Wade.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband Darel Kent Custer in 2003, her daughter Karen Suggs in 1988, and five brothers, Aubrey, Lester, Elmer, Roland and Cyril Rogers.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkesburg, WV with Rev. Kurt Busiek officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.
