Frederick Whitmore, Senior On June 29, 2007, Mr. Frederick Whitmore passed away peacefully in Kamloops, BC at the age of 83 years old. Survived by his loving wife Shirley; his four sons Allan, Fred Jr. (Vicki), Edward (Lena), Ted (Diane); and his daughter Gloria Gosen (Ray). Fred\'s pride and joy were all of his grandchildren Tracey, Amanda, Jenna, Ashley, Landon, Brad, Heather, Julian, Kristopher and Amanda, along with his great grandchildren Tyrese and Jordyn. Grandpa also had a special place in his heart for Christina Gust. Also survived by his three sisters Phyllis Wetmore, Norma Coell and Joan King; as well as numerous nieces and nephews which he loved and adored. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Catherine Whitmore; his sisters Florence and Ina; his brothers Edward and Harry; and great grandson Brandon. Also predeceased by his best friend and brother James; and sister-in-law Claire. The inseparable brothers will once again reunite for their long, memorable discussions and enjoy those lucky slot machines together. Fred was born in Kamloops at 614 Pine Street on April 2, 1924. At the age of 19, Fred enlisted with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve in Vancouver and was discharged three years after with an Honourable Able Seaman status. Fred worked in Vancouver for a short time before returning to his hometown of Kamloops. In 1946, Fred joined the \"Taxi\" family to drive for Howe\'s taxi and then Perry\'s taxi. In 1973 Fred and his partners joined together and started their own business called \"Kami Cabs\". On November 9, 1957 he wed the love of his life Shirley, and from that day on they were inseparable. Fred loved all the great friends and acquaintances he met in those years and to this date, still kept in contact with some of them. In 1995, Fred retired from the taxi business and he and his wife began to travel and care for their grandchildren and great grandchild. Fred was happiest at family gatherings where he prepared his special meals including the big \"Chinese Feast\". Friends and families came to enjoy the eventful Whitmore dinners and special event house parties over the years. The family of Fred Whitmore would like to extend an invitation for you to attend a \"Celebration of Life\" on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church, 1205 Rogers Way.
